Tuesday 8/18/15 Agenda

Thank you for your respectful behavior yesterday in class.

In lieu of Presenting "Richard Cory" in front of the class, we will be doing a memorization writing activity instead.  

Directions-On a blank piece of paper, write the "Richard Cory" poem that you were asked to memorize last week. Write down the 16 line poem to the best of your ability.

"Lottery" Review 
Ask someone other than your elbow partner your three questions and see if they can answer them.  Discuss the answers together. Switch. Repeat.

Homework=
Choose one of the following three quotes and write an explanation for why the quote is important and how it pertains to the story "The Lottery."

1. Mr. Summers spoke frequently to the villagers about making a new box, but no one liked to upset even as much tradition as was represented by the black box.

2.  Although Mr. Summers and everyone else in the village knew the answer perfectly well, it was the business of the official of the lottery to ask such questions formally.

3.  Although the villagers had forgotten the ritual and lost the original black box, they still remembered to use stones.
